Social media is fake and there should be no doubt in this statement. As I mentioned previously in my blog post that social media is a very tricky and dangerous tool that can either help you or destroy you emotionally.

I never did underestimate the power of social media to help out businesses, companies, or even struggling human beings but let’s be honest. We all know that social media is damaging youths. It’s better if we accept the fact that social media is using us not the other way around.

Every time I scroll through social media I always find some pictures of some people wearing fancy clothes and showing how good their life is doing all kinds of crap.
The next thing I know I am thinking about having the same lifestyle as they represented in their photos and videos.

These people are always busy showing the world how perfect every day of their life is by posting pictures or adding stories on Instagram and Facebook. They make us believe that every day of our life should be perfect and if it is not we are not as good as them.

It creates a false reality in our minds that every day and every minute of our life should be perfect. That’s not how life treats us and it is the reality that you cannot have a perfect day or anything like that. Life is full of ups and downs. It doesn’t work as those people on social media show us.

In reality, you will be depressed and you will struggle and will feel unhappy at some point in your life. And the opposite is also true. You should accept the fact that life is not as easy or smooth as people show. Life is a very rough road it has some speed breakers on the way and also has some moments of happiness and peace in the way.

Those who show us that their life is perfect, are not different from us. They also face tough challenges now and then. They also feel sad but they are not as courageous as they should be so that’s why they hide that fact and seek attention and praise from society. They don’t feel good about themselves so they try to fill up that gap by lying on social media and getting liked by society for faking themselves.

David Goggin is also known as the world’s toughest man has said many times that people on social media always try to hide the fact that their life is misery by posting good pictures and moments of themselves.

So don’t feel bad about the fact that people know your struggles and your problems in life because they also have the same problems. The only thing that separates you from them is the fact that they hide their truth better than you did. Now you can work on those problems and be better than all of them.

Let’s see how social media features encourage human beings to compare themselves with others.

Encourage us to compare with others

One of the things that I hate about social media is that their features like likes and shares. These features just encourage teenagers to compare themselves with others. These features just make it easier for teens like us to compare ourselves without understanding the fact that every human being is special and unique in their way.

Comparing ourselves is the most self-destructive habit out there. It makes us feel embarrassed about ourselves. I will let you know what I think today’s world is not about skills, it’s about popularity nowadays. Now day’s teenagers worry more about their status in society than what they feel about themselves.

The best piece of advice I can give to anyone is that The only that matters in this world is what you feel about yourself when you are by yourself. So you have to realize that the only important thing is what you think about yourself. It doesn’t matter if society or you don’t respect you.

There is a competition going on for who gets more followers or who gets the most number of likes on their photos or videos. It doesn’t make sense to me. Your identity of yourself should not be dependent on the number of likes or number of followers you get.

Develop the skills that matter to you. Do the things that make you happy and fulfilled. Try to ignore what others say about you but remember to listen to critics closely it might be true. If it is true work on those weak points if it is not just remove that garbage from your head.

That’s how you will feel worthy about yourself and that is the most important thing in the world. You should use social for your advantage otherwise social media will use you for their benefit. Be careful and never compare yourselves with others. Your only competition is you.

Instagram and Facebook also urge us to get liked by others. We compete with each other based on our appearance and mostly on how many likes and shares one gets. The ones who get the most number of likes are the coolest.

It just messes up the human mind. Then we search for acceptance and tend to please others. We don’t care what’s right or wrong, we just tend to think about what people will like. You and I might not do the things that we like and do what they want us to do.

I can’t stress this enough friends be yourself and be proud of who you are that’s the only way you can be fulfilled and live a peaceful life.

We fake ourselves to get attention

Social media has introduced us to a whole new world. A world where no one aims for long-term goals. There is no doubt that most people like you and me seek attention from other people.

So every time you open your social media you will mostly find people showing how good their life is or maybe they wear a certain outfit for getting liked by others. Even when that dress makes them feel uncomfortable.

At the end of the day no matter how much you get liked by other people you will not feel good. The only important thing is to please yourself. So work on getting liked by yourself and don’t give importance to the opinions of other people about you. Life is more about you and less about them.

Behave and act as you do out in the public and even on social media. If they don’t like who you are that’s their problem, not yours. If you find a single thing that you need to work on. Do it.
